Suzuki, which specialises in compact cars and 4x4s, is the fourth-largest automaker in Japan and is in the top 10 automakers globally in terms of sales volume. The company may be better recognised for its bikes, but it also produces a highly capable selection of automobiles, like as the well-liked Swift, Across, Ignis, S-Cross, Jimny, and Vitara.
Michio Suzuki established the Suzuki Loom Works in the Japanese coastal city of Hamamatsu in 1909. It first provided weaving looms to the silk industry, but after 30 years of success, it decided it was time to expand. As a result, the company created its first small automobile prototype.
The Suzulight, the company's first four-wheel drive vehicle, was built in 1955 and included independent suspension and rack-and-pinion steering, two characteristics that wouldn't become commonplace on many automobiles for another 30 years.
Since then, it has expanded its business and made agreements with several companies in other areas to sell either their own products or those of others under various trademarks. Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Fiat, and General Motors are partners in these endeavours.
