Audi Nuvolari: Audi’s 1,001 PS Supercar Has Entered the Chat
Audi Has Gone Full Supercar Mode
Audi has revealed the Nuvolari, and this is not just another fast Audi with a dramatic badge and a few carbon bits thrown at it.
This is a 1,001 PS hybrid supercar with a top speed of more than 217mph, a 0-62mph time of just 2.6 seconds, and the title of being the fastest and most powerful production vehicle in Audi’s history. So yes, Audi has decided to be very serious.
Limited to just 499 units, with deliveries expected to begin in the first half of 2027, the Nuvolari is Audi showing what happens when Formula 1 ideas are allowed to escape the paddock and make their way onto the road.
A Hybrid Powertrain With Ridiculous Numbers
Underneath all that sharp styling is a high-performance hybrid powertrain, made up of a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine and three electric motors.
The V8 produces 800 hp on its own, while the full system output sits at a very silly 1,001 PS. It is the kind of number that makes you check it twice just to make sure you read it properly.
And it is not just quick off the line either. The Nuvolari can hit 124mph in just 6.8 seconds, which is the sort of speed that makes most normal cars feel like they have stopped for a cup of tea halfway through.
Formula 1 Thinking For The Road
Audi has packed the Nuvolari with some properly clever kit too. There is a new quattro predictive ride system, active aerodynamics, a lightweight Audi Space Frame with carbon exterior parts, and a motorsport-inspired braking system designed to deal with the kind of performance this car is putting down.
The Formula 1 influence is not just there to sound good in a press release either. The Nuvolari uses ideas from motorsport to improve speed, stability, braking and energy management, making it feel like much more than just a big-power showpiece.
Quattro Predictive Ride Sounds Seriously Clever
The quattro predictive ride system is one of the big talking points. Audi’s quattro system is already a huge part of the brand’s identity, but this takes things further.
It reads what the car is doing, looks at grip levels, steering angle and movement, then adjusts the torque, brakes and aerodynamics to help keep the car stable and planted.
Basically, it is trying to sort things out before they become a problem.
Active Aero, Because Of Course
Then there is the active aero. The rear wing can move depending on what the car needs, whether that is reducing drag for straight-line speed or adding downforce when braking and cornering.
There is even a Drag Reduction System button, which is about as close as most people will get to pretending they are in Formula 1 without annoying everyone at a track day.
It Looks As Serious As It Sounds
Design-wise, the Nuvolari looks every bit as serious as the numbers suggest. It follows Audi’s new design direction, with a mid-engine layout, carbon elements and a strong, planted stance.
It is finished in Audi’s new Titanium signature colour, which is also used on the Audi Concept C and Audi Formula 1 race car. Subtle? Not really. Cool? Absolutely.
A Proper Driver-Focused Interior
Inside, Audi has gone for a properly driver-focused layout. Instead of making it feel like a living room with wheels, the Nuvolari keeps things focused around the person behind the wheel.
The controls are placed where they need to be, the lightweight seats use carbon fibre, and the cabin has that stripped-back but premium feel that makes it clear this car has a job to do.
Brakes Built For Big-Speed Drama
The brakes are just as extreme as the power figures. Audi has fitted its Ceramic Pro braking system, with ten-piston calipers at the front and huge carbon-based discs designed to deal with serious heat and force.
In simple terms, the Nuvolari is built to stop like a race car, not just go like one.
Why The Nuvolari Matters
What makes this car so interesting is that it is not just about Audi chasing big numbers for the sake of it.
The Nuvolari is a proper showcase of where performance cars are heading. It blends a V8 engine, electric power, Formula 1 thinking and road car usability into one very dramatic package.
Final Thoughts
Of course, with only 499 being built, this is not exactly going to be a common sight on the school run. But that is part of the appeal.
The Audi Nuvolari feels like one of those cars people will still be talking about years from now.
It is fast, clever, limited, packed with technology and absolutely not here to be quiet about it.
Audi has not just built a supercar.
It has made a statement.
